Ep. 288 Climate Actions and Net-Zero in Organizations.
Many governments and companies have to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 to move to a net-zero emissions economy, and in some places around the world, like the UK is a law.
To reach these goals, all sizes of organizations should implement, analyze, and work on R&D on climate and interactions with societies, customers, shareholders, and stakeholders. We also need to work in alignment with scopes 1,2,3.
To discuss these topics, our guest today is Douglas Marett.
Douglas Marett is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is the CEO of GH Sustainability, which provides innovative results worldwide in Sustainable Solutions, Climate Change, and Energy & Environment.
He is also the founder of Enablesus, a company that empowers our world by linking sustainability transparency between consumers and organizations.
In this episode, Douglas and I discussed the following topics:
- What is the best approach to communicate climate action and net-zero in the organizations
- The importance of Scope 1, 2, and 3 are so crucial within the organizations
- The role of the CEO in ESG
Also, we analyzed an excellent report from his company called Close The Gap.
‘Close the Gap’ highlights the space between Danish consumer preferences for sustainability information on products and companies and what information Danish companies find essential to communicate. This report focuses on how both consumers and companies use IT within this Business-2-Consumer (B2C) relationship and how Small and Medium-Sized (SMEs) companies address this relationship since they are not required by law to report on their sustainability.
